ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport driver Daniel Abt set the pace in second practice ahead of qualifying at Long Beach.
Abt ended second practice just a tenth clear of Renault e.Dams' Sebastien Buemi in second place. Abt's teammate and championship contender Lucas di Grassi qualified third fastest and will be hoping to get his championship aspirations back on track after his disqualification last time out.
Robin Frijns had a great session and qualified in fifth place, just three-tenths off the pace set by Abt. Sam Bird ended the session in sixth place for DS Virgin after being second quickest in first practice whilst Nico Prost, Bruno Senna, Stephane Sarrazin and Jerome d'Ambrosio rounded out the top 10 qualifiers.
The tricky Long Beach circuit did manage to catch out several drivers out at Turn One during qualifying, including Robin Frijns who locked up heavily as did Salvador Duran in the Aguri.
Qualifying at Long Beach gets underway at 2000 BST.
