Mercedes put in an advert for Rosberg's drive in Autosport

Two days ago, the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team has placed a humorous advert in Autosport magazine, asking for a driver who is “self-motivated with a strong desire for success and commitment to teamwork”.

It also asks that candidates have a “proven track record in skills including steering, braking and, in particular, accelerating.”

Following Nico Rosberg's immediate retirement from the sport last week, Mercedes is looking for a new driver to partner Lewis Hamilton for the new season. Rosberg’s decision to quit has led to much speculation about who his replacement will be, with mooted candidates ranging from Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hulkenberg as well as Mercedes junior Pascal Wehrlein.

Though the advert goes on to mention various perks of the job it does not mention salary — though we think it is safe to assume it is a fair amount above the minimum wage.

The advert can be seen in full below:-
