Nico Rosberg tops the timesheets in FP3 in Barcelona

This morning or the afternoon in Barcelona, Nico Rosberg topped the timesheets at the final practice session in FP3 ahead of Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel and his team mate Lewis Hamilton.

In the last 30 minutes of the session, Lewis Hamilton spun coming out of Turn 4 after his left rear touched the astro turf as the W07 had a touch of understeer. Luckily Hamilton kept his foot on the brakes and out of the barriers and was able to get back to the pits to change his tyres.

But it was Nico Rosberg who topped the timesheets with a laptime of 1.26.021 ahead of Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel in second place who was 0.156 seconds off his pace but was ahead of his team mate Lewis Hamilton in third place who was 0.2 seconds off the pace of Rosberg.

Valtteri Bottas finished the session in fourth place ahead of Kimi Raikkonen in fifth place, Daniel Ricciardo in sixth place and Felipe Massa in seventh place. Max Verstappen is doing very well so far this weekend and ended the session in eighth place ahead of Daniil Kvyat who suffered problems with his power unit yet again during the session but finished in ninth place and ahead of his team mate Carlos Sainz Jr who rounded off the top ten finishers.

Jenson Button just missed out on the top ten by ending the session in eleventh place ahead of Nico Hulkenberg in twelfth place, Felipe Nasr in thirteenth place, his team mate Fernando Alonso in fourteenth place and Romain Grosjean who finished the session in fifteenth place.

As we head into the latter stages of the grid, Pastor Maladonado ended the session in sixteenth place ahead of the Sauber driver Marcus Ericsson who appears to be struggling this weekend in seventeenth place but finished ahead of Sergio Perez who ended the session in eighteenth place and the two Manor F1 drivers of Will Stevens and Roberto Merhi who ended the session in nineteenth and twentieth places.
