RACE RETRO EXPANDS LIVE ACTION WITH
RALLYING WITH GROUP B
Race Retro, the international historic motorsport show, is expanding its live action for 2017 as the pre-season opener continues to develop its bespoke Rally Stage with the sporting organisation Rallying with Group B.
Held at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from 24-26 February 2017, Race Retro's outstanding outdoor action takes place on Saturday and Sunday, with around 70 Group B and C rally cars expecting to cross the start line.
Event Director Daniel Nwaokolo said: “Rallying with Group B has provided cars for the live action element of Race Retro for the past two years, building its offering each year. For 2017, we plan to expand on the great work they have been doing even further by inviting historic rally cars from all eras and their drivers from across the UK to come and join the fun.â€
Rallying with Group B will also be offering passenger rides for charity donations as well as introducing modern rally drivers, from those in the junior ranks to British and European champions, so visitors get the chance to see the old alongside the new.
“Although it's a demonstration, its doesn't mean there isn't some friendly rivalry and the same streak of competitiveness going on in the Parc Ferme,†Dan added.
Tim Foster, Rallying with Group B organiser, said: “Race Retro is one of the highlights of the historic rallying calendar and we are thrilled to continue our long term involvement with this fantastic event and the new owners Clarion Events for the foreseeable future, bringing these amazing cars to Stoneleigh Park, where fellow enthusiasts can enjoy seeing these cars doing what they do best.â€
The British Historic Kart Club will also be getting in on the action with fantastic demonstrations of these 'pocket rocket' machines throughout the weekend.
All of these historic motorsport elements, including more yet to be announced, will be conducted under the watchful eye of commentating legend and original Top Gear presenter Tony Mason, who will also welcome special guests to the commentary box.
Race Retro, celebrating its 15th anniversary, will be held from 24th to 26th February 2017 at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, with tickets now on sale. For the latest updates, visit www.raceretro.com
