Rosberg gets tenth Pole Position of the season at Brazil

This afternoon we saw Nico Rosberg clinching his tenth Pole Position and the Pole Position trophy in Brazil ahead of his team mate and championship rival Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa who was third fastest.

In a thrilling qualifying session, we saw both the Williams and the Mercedes drivers battling each other for the Pole Position. But it was Rosberg who got his tenth Pole Position of the season and the Pole Position trophy and was ahead of Hamilton with a lap time of 1.10.023.

Hamilton finished the session in second place 0.033 seconds behind Rosberg. Hamilton could have achieved Pole but locked up on his final lap time which cost him valuable time. But Hamilton ahead of Massa who was 0.224 seconds behind the two Mercedes drivers.

Valtteri Bottas qualified in fourth place ahead of Jenson Button in fifth place ahead of a much improved Sebastian Vettel in sixth place and Kevin Magnussen in seventh place. Fernando Alonso qualified in eighth place ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in ninth place and Kimi Raikkonen who rounds off the top ten finishers of the session.

Esteban Gutierrez qualified on the grid in eleventh place ahead of Nico Hulkenberg Maldonado in twelfth place and Adrian Sutil in thirteenth place. As we head into the latter stages of the grid, Daniil Kvyat finished the session in fourteenth place (but will serve the second half of his penalty from Austin) ahead of Romain Grosjean in fifteenth place, Jean-Eric Vergne in sixteenth place, Sergio Perez who qualified in seventeenth but will take a seven grid place penalty but was ahead of Pastor Maldonado who qualified in eighteenth place.
