Williams celebrate their 600th race

Tom Wilkinson spoke to Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas on Thursday and they are both confident they can have a good race. Valtteri said the team are bringing significant upgrades to the car this weekend, mainly focused on aerodynamics, however when Tom asked him what result they are aiming for, he said points is the target but he admitted it isn’t going to be easy.

Williams confirmed that they will be testing a number of upgrades in Friday practice. This seems ambitious but Pastor also said it’s a possibility. The wet weather today may however make it difficult to evaluate the upgrades.

When Tom spoke to them about the teams recent struggles, they confirmed that the team are working towards improving the car with a number of upgrades at Silverstone, and also that there will be further upgrades at next weekend’s race in Germany.

Williams are one of the legendary teams in Formula 1, they are hugely respected up and down the paddock. Results may not have been the best in more recent years, but with Clare Williams taking more control it is a sign of a new era. 2014 will represent a big change for them with Mercedes-Benz engines, signs of improvement and development are already showing. Lets hope that they will soon be moving forward up the grid where they traditionally belong.
